Beth's Cafe, January 8, 2008

Lunch at Beth's Cafe was the first official bloggy outing with camera.

Beth's Cafe is a restaurant with a big red awning on Aurora, which is a main drag in Seattle. Dan and I have driven by it a million times, and every time I looked at that big awning that says 'Beth's Cafe' and thought, 'I should really go there some time'. Because hey, even if it sucks, it's named after me.

I wish I had remembered to take a picture of the outside, but I didn't.

Apparently they've been serving Seattle's Best and Biggest Breakfasts since 1954.

I believe it. The specialty is a 12-egg omelet. This scared me, so I ordered the 6 egg omelet.
This omelet was so large that I ate one teeny little corner of it. Then I took it home and nuked it for breakfast for the next three days. Yes, three. And it was good. Even the hash browns. And I normally hate hashbrowns.

I had read online raves about their milkshakes, so I ordered a vanilla milkshake to go with my six egg omelet. Why is my milkshake sidewise? Why, blogger, why? Maybe it's a metaphor to indicate how thick and creamy this milkshake was. It was so thick that when I was about 3/4 done, instead of having a watery disappointment of a milkshake, I had a fist-sized lump of delicious vanilla ice cream.

And coffee. Coffee was not bad.

Julia had a sandwich, which I will allow her to review:

The decor was entirely appropriate.

The service was excellent. And extremely patient.

Five out of five! Would drag husband here!
